Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have come forward to help the country in the war against the pandemic. The couple has launched a fund-raiser to help the indigents. Virat and Anushka have conveyed this information through their official social media handles. Furthermore, they have donated ₹2 Crore to the fund-raiser. The initiative aims to raise a sum of seven crore rupees.
Sharing a video, Anushka composed a message for the citizens. She said that, as India is fighting the second wave of COVID-19, our healthcare system is encountering several difficulties and it hurts to see the country’s people in trouble. To help in withstanding this crisis, the duo has started a campaign that aims to raise funds for relief. Further, the actress mentioned that she hopes to see the country rise from this problematic predicament. She appealed to everyone to come forward and contribute as much as possible. She added that this campaign can save many lives at this tough juncture.
The campaign will run for seven days. The funds raised from this campaign will be provided to an organization named ACT Grants, which provides oxygen and other medical facilities to the indigents.
Virat Kohli said that, along with Anushka, he aims to help as much as possible in this battle against COVID-19 and his team is operating to assist more and more people. He added that the country needs everyone’s contribution right now. To defeat the virus, the duo has pledged to raise funds with the belief that together, the country can raise sufficient money to help the needy citizens. He said that he is confident of people coming ahead to help their fellow countrymen. Further, he asserted that with unity, the nation will be able to overcome this challenge.
